Q: Do you rewire vintage and antique lamps? A: Yes — lamp rewiring is one of our core services at our Chiswick studio. We rewire all kinds of vintage and antique lighting, from mid-century desk and table lamps to chandeliers and pendants, using period-appropriate braided cable. All rewired lamps are safety-tested before collection or return.
Q: What types of lighting do you repair and restore? A: We work on a wide range of vintage and antique lighting including table lamps, floor lamps, desk and task lights, pendant lights, chandeliers, and wall lights. We specialise in mid-century British, Italian and Danish lighting, as well as Murano glass chandeliers and other decorative pieces.
Q: Where are you based and can I bring my lamp in? A: We're based at Studio 15, The Pavilion Studios, Market Drive, Chiswick, W4 2RX. You're welcome to bring your lamp directly to the studio — just contact us first via WhatsApp on 07906 763745 or by email to confirm availability and arrange a convenient time.
Q: Can you repair a lamp I've bought from an antique fair or inherited? A: Absolutely. We regularly restore inherited pieces and antique fair finds, bringing them up to current UK wiring safety standards while preserving their original character and appearance as much as possible.
Q: Do you convert vintage lighting from overseas to UK standards? A: Yes — we can convert many European and international vintage lamps to comply with current UK electrical safety standards, including earthing metal fittings. We recommend contacting us with details of the piece before bringing it in, as some imported lamps require more complex work.
Q: Can you make a bespoke lamp from a vase or object I already own? A: Yes — we work with artists, makers and private clients to create bespoke lamps from ceramic vases, sculptural objects and other unique pieces. Get in touch to discuss your idea and we can advise on feasibility and cost.
Q: How long does a lamp repair or restoration take? A: Turnaround times vary depending on the complexity of the work and current studio capacity. A standard rewire typically takes around 1–2 weeks. More involved restorations may take longer. Contact us for a current estimate when you get in touch about your piece.
Q: How do I get a quote for a lamp repair? A: The easiest way is to send us a WhatsApp message with a couple of photos of your lamp — including any visible damage or the cord/plug — to 07906 763745.
